My Bio PageWho is the Ironfixer? Ironfixer is in reality Tony Reese. He is currently residing in a small town in the western portion of Georgia, USA. Born in that area, then moved and lived in Houston Texas for a good deal of his childhood. During his childhood he developed interests in art and action/ Sci-fi/ fiction. During his High School years in Carrollton Georgia, he befriended Lee Hughey, who, as it happened to be, was born on Tony's birthday (but one year later). Becoming best friends, Tony's interest in art aroused an interest in Lee, and soon the two were mainstays of the art classroom and soon the school newspaper staff as well. Unfortunately the two drifted apart during the college years. Lee went on to get a degree in Communications, while Tony dropped out and was soon engaged. That marriage lasted less that 2 years. Tony entered the Navy by the suggestions of his then wife, who left him while still in boot camp. Finally being discharged 8 months later, he soon was divorced as well. Tony's art and writing, which he had been developing since High School, in the form of his fictional character Doomsday Danny, took a back seat to getting by for a few years. Then Tony remarried in 1991. Had a son, his second, in 1992, and another in 1994. It was after the birth of the second son in 1992 that he became interested in computers and bought his first one. An IBM PS/1, 33 MHz, a big 4 megs of ram with 120 meg hard drive! But, this started a love affair with computers. Tony quickly learned how to upgrade and even build his own computers and soon joined up with the web community as it was emerging. This is how Lee came back into the picture. Tony found an email address for his long time no see friend Lee. They conversed for some time before Tony found out Lee had his own web site, of art he had done on the computer! Then, in February 2000, Tony, already starting to go by the moniker Ironfixer, bought a copy of Bryce 4, Poser 4, and Paint Shop Pro 6. The rest, as they say, is history! What is an Ironfixer? Needing a nickname for the AOL Messenger that he was trying out at the time, Tony came up with the name that he now uses for his artist name. Iron comes from "The Iron Man", a children's book about a giant robot that lived in a junkyard. Also from his favorite comic book character at the time, Iron Man. Fixer, was the title of the job he, at that time, held. He was the 'fixer' of textile machinery in a rope factory.
